Tofu Steak

SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • Tofu, sliced horizontally into 3, scored
  • 1 1/2 cup (300g) Cooking oil
Sauce
  • 3 packs of (30g) 90.0 Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 cup (60g) Sugar
  • 2 tsps. (10g) Mirin
  • 1/2 Tbsp. (10g) Ginger, minced
  • 3 Tbsps. (40ml) Water
Garnish (Optional)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. (10g) Leeks, diagonally sliced

Procedure

  1. DEEP FRY. Heat oil in a pan. Fry tofu until it becomes brown and crispy. Set aside.
  2. SIMMER. In a pot, add Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce, sugar, mirin, ginger, and water. Simmer until sugar melts with the sauce.
  3. SERVE. Transfer tofu onto a serving plate. Glaze with sauce and garnish with leeks.

Cooking Tips

Make sure the tofu is dry before frying to minimize oil splatters.
