Shrimp in Corn Soup
AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami SeasoningIngredients
- 1 Tbsp (15g) Butter, unsalted
- 2 Tbsps. (30g) Onion, minced
- 1 Tbsp. (10g) Garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (15g) Celery stalks, minced
- 1/4 kilo (250g) Shrimps, deveined, minced
- 1/4 cup (40g) Carrots, minced
- 1/8 cup (20g) Red bell pepper, minced
- 1 can (425g) Cream style corn, canned
- 2 cups (500ml) Water
- 1/2 cup (125g) All-purpose cream
- 1 Tbsp. (10g) Cornstarch (dissolved in 1 Tbsp. water)
- 1 pack (11g) AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning
- 1/4 cup (5g) Celery leaves, chopped
- 4 tsps. (20ml) Fish sauce
- 1/8 tsp (0.3g) Black pepper, ground
Procedure
- SAUTÉ. In a heated pot, put butter then saute onion, garlic, and celery until traslucent. Add shrimps, carrots, and bell peppers, saute for few minutes.
- SEASON & SIMMER. Add corn and water, let it simmer for few minutes. Mix-in cream, cornstarch mixture, AJI-NO-MOTO®, celery leaves, fish sauce, and black pepper. Mix well until the soup thickens.
- SERVE. Transfer on a serving bowl then serve hot.
Cooking Tips
Depending on the desired consistency of the soup, you may opt to add more or less of the all-purpose cream or the cornstarch mixture.
