Pizza Roll Recipe

CRISPY FRY® Seasoned Crumbs

Ingredients

Pizza Wrapper:
  • 3 cups (350g) All-Purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsps. (30g) Cooking oil
  • 1/4 tsp. (1g) Salt
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Water
Filling:
  • 2 Tbsps. (30g) Cooking oil
  • 4 Tbsps. (60g) Onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsps. (30g) Garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup (120g) German Sausage, small cubes
  • 3/4 cup (120g) Pepperoni, small cubes
  • 1 /4 tsp. (1g) Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. (0.6g) Pepper
  • 3/4 cup (150g) Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup (175g) Carrots, minced
  • 1 cup (150g) Quickmelt cheese, grated
  • 1 pc (44g) Egg, beaten
  • 1 pack (50g) CRISPY FRY® Seasoned Crumbs
  • 1 cup (250g) Cooking oil

Procedure

  1. MIX. To prepare the pizza wrapper, combine all purpose flour, cooking oil, and salt in a bowl. Slowly add water into the flour mixture. Gently stir and mix until dough forms into a ball.
  2. KNEAD & SHAPE. Lightly flour your working table and knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then shape the dough into a ball. Cover the dough with an inverted bowl and let it rest for 10 minutes. Cut your dough into 10 equal sizes. Using a rolling pin, flatten each piece to create a small pizza dough. Set aside.
  3. SAUTÉ. To cook the filling, sauté onion and garlic in a heaten pan with oil. Add sausage, pepperoni, salt, pepper and tomato sauce. Once sausage and pepperoni are cooked, add carrots. Continue sauteing for about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  4. ASSEMBLE & COAT. Place 2 tablespoons of the filling and 1/2 tablespoon of cheese in the center of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper’s bottom corner over the filling then fold sides towards the center. Moisten the remaining corner with beaten egg and roll up tightly. Brush all sides of the roll with beaten egg then generously coat with CRISPY FRY® Seasoned Crumbs.
  5. DEEP-FRY. In a pan, heat oil. Deep-fry the rolls until golden brown. Drain excess oil using strainer of collander.
  6. SERVE. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve and enjoy.

Cooking Tips

Not a fan of pepperoni? You may use ground pork or beef as substitute.
