Marinated Pork in Peppercorn Sauce

SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

Marinated Pork Chop:
  • 1/2 kilo Pork chop, sliced
  • 2 Tbsps. Soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar, brown
  • 1 Tbsp. Calamansi juice
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Red onion, minced
  • 2 packs of (30g) SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce
Buttered Vegetables:
  • 2 Tbsps. Butter, salted
  • 1 cup Baby Potatoes, halved
  • 1 cup Carrots, thick strips
  • 1 cup String Beans, trimmed
  • 2 Tbsps. Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
Peppercorn sauce:
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter, salted
  • 2 tsps. Garlic, minced
  • 3/4 Tbsp. All-purpose
  • 1/2 cup Evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tsps. Soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Black peppercorn, cracked

Procedure

  1. MARINATE. In a bowl, combine pork chop, soy sauce, brown sugar, calamansi, garlic, onion, and SARSAYA® Oyster Sauce. Mix well and marinate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
  2. GRILL. On a griller, grill marinated pork until brown on both sides. Brush the pork with the excess marinade. Set aside.
  3. SAUTÉ. In a pan, melt butter before adding the garlic. Sauté the baby potatoes, carrots, and string beans separately, until fork tender. Season with salt then set aside.
  4. SIMMER. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic then cook until fragrant. Mix in flour then slowly add in evaporated milk and water. Stir well until smooth. Add soy sauce and peppercorn. Simmer for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
  5. SERVE. Transfer pork chop and buttered vegetables to a plate then top with peppercorn sauce. Serve and enjoy.

Cooking Tips

Brush the pork with the excess marinade just before it finishes cooking for added taste, color, and to prevent the meat from burning.
