Malunggay Onion Dip

AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning

Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 cup (125g) Onions, sliced
  • 2 1/4 Tbsps. (30ml) Olive oil
  • 1 pack (11g) AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup (45ml) Water
  • 1/2 tsp. (2g) Salt
  • 5 1/2 Tbsps. (10g) Malunggay leaves
  • 1/8 cup (20g) Cream cheese, melted
  • 3/4 cup (150g) Mayonnaise
  • 2/3 Tbsp. (10ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • pinch (0.8g) Salt

Procedure

  1. CARAMELIZE. In a pan, add olive oil, onions, AJI-NO-MOTO®, salt and water. Cover the pan and caramelize until golden brown. (Add water if it dries)
  2. ASSEMBLE. Beat malunggay leaves, cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in Worcestershire and salt. Then fold in caramelized onions.
  3. SERVE. Transfer onto sauce cup and serve!

Cooking Tips

Uses: Dip with chips, breads, and can be used with dishes with mayo to enhance mayo flavor. (Can be stored in the fridge with an airtight container for 4 days)
