Malunggay Onion Dip
AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami SeasoningIngredients
- 2 1/3 cup (125g) Onions, sliced
- 2 1/4 Tbsps. (30ml) Olive oil
- 1 pack (11g) AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning
- 1/4 cup (45ml) Water
- 1/2 tsp. (2g) Salt
- 5 1/2 Tbsps. (10g) Malunggay leaves
- 1/8 cup (20g) Cream cheese, melted
- 3/4 cup (150g) Mayonnaise
- 2/3 Tbsp. (10ml) Worcestershire sauce
- pinch (0.8g) Salt
Procedure
- CARAMELIZE. In a pan, add olive oil, onions, AJI-NO-MOTO®, salt and water. Cover the pan and caramelize until golden brown. (Add water if it dries)
- ASSEMBLE. Beat malunggay leaves, cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in Worcestershire and salt. Then fold in caramelized onions.
- SERVE. Transfer onto sauce cup and serve!
Cooking Tips
Uses: Dip with chips, breads, and can be used with dishes with mayo to enhance mayo flavor. (Can be stored in the fridge with an airtight container for 4 days)
