Delicious Lumpiang Shanghai

Lumpiang Shanghai:
- 1/4 kilo (250g) Ground lean pork
- 1/3 cup (80g) Singkamas, grated
- 2 Tbsps. (30g) Carrot, grated
- 1/4 cup (35g) Onion, chopped
- 1 pc. (50g) Egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsps. (30ml) Soy sauce
- 1 tsp. (5ml) Sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. (2.5g) Salt
- 1 pack (8g) AJI-GINISA® Flavor Seasoning Mix
- 15 pcs. (30g) Lumpia wrapper
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Water
- 2 cups (500ml) Cooking oil
- 3/4 cup (180ml) Water
- 1/3 cup (80ml) Tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. (15ml) Soy sauce
- 2 Tbsps. (30g) Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. (10g) Cornstarch
- 1 pack (8g) AJI-GINISA® Flavor Seasoning Mix
Procedure
- MIX. To prepare lumpiang shanghai, combine ground pork, singkamas, carrot, onion, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and AJI-GINISA® in a bowl. Mix until well incorporated.
- WRAP. Spoon 1 Tbsp. mixture into lumpia wrapper. Roll and seal with water.
- DEEP-FRY. In a pan, heat oil. Slice lumpia into 3 portions then deep-fry until golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil using strainer or colander. Set aside.
- SIMMER. To prepare lumpia sauce, combine water, tomato sauce, soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and AJI-GINISA® in a saucepan. Mix well and simmer until thickened.
- SERVE. Transfer lumpia to a plate. Serve with the prepared sauce.
Cooking Tips
Place the uncooked lumpiang shanghai in the freezer for 30 minutes before frying to help it firm up and maintain its shape when frying.
