Chicken Lollipop with BBQ Sauce
CRISPY FRY® Breading Mix OriginalIngredients
Chicken Lollipop:
- 1 pc. (50g) Egg
- 1/2 tsp. (1g) Five spice
- 1/2 tsp. (1g) Chili flakes
- 1/2 kilo (500g) Chicken, lollipop-style
- 1 pack (30g) CRISPY FRY® Breading Mix Original
- 2 cups (500ml) Cooking oil palm
- 1 cup (200g) Tomato, small dice
- 4 Tbsps. (50g) Brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. (15ml) Worcesteshire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. (1g) Five spice
- 1/2 tsp. (1g) Paprika
- 1/2 tsp. (1g) Chili flakes
- 1 Tbsp. (15g) Garlic
- 1/2 tsp. (2g) Salt
Procedure
- MARINATE. Combine egg, five spice, and chili flakes in a bowl and mix well. Coat chicken lollipop with the marinade mixture. Set aside for 15 mins.
- COAT & FRY. In a bowl, coat the marinated chicken lollipop with CRISPY FRY® (Original). In a pan, heat oil. Fry a batch of chicken lollipop and cooked until golden brown. Drain excess oil using strainer or colander. Set aside.
- SEAR & BLEND. For the BBQ sauce, sear the tomatoes in a non-stick pan. Add sugar, worcestershire sauce, five spice, paprika, chili flakes, garlic, and salt then cook until sugar has melted. Pour mixture in a blender then blend until smooth.
- SERVE. Transfer fried chicken to a plate. Serve hot with the homemade BBQ sauce and enjoy.
Cooking Tips
*To make chicken lollipop, either use drummettes or whole chicken wings. Both need to be frenched to get the shape of lollipop. *Make sure that your chicken lollipop is dry so that your marinade won't be diluted.
