We all end up with holiday leftovers after hosting a Christmas luncheon or New Year dinner.
But worry no more about eating the same menu for a week to consume those leftovers or worse having lots of food waste.
Here are some interesting recipes to reinvent those of holiday leftovers that are flavorful and will help avoid food waste.
Want to bring new life to your excess embutido? Let’s go! The sauce is the key. With Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce, create a special asado sauce fusion of embutido and asado!
To make the sauce, put cooking oil on a saucepan to sauté garlic and onions until fragrant. Then add soy sauce, Sarsaya® Oyster Sauce, five-spice, and brown sugar until sugar is caramelized.
Then thicken the base of the sauce by adding cornstarch and water. Then set aside. Lastly, reheat the leftover embutido on a steamer and then transfer to a plate. Pour over all the asado sauce on the sliced embutido then serve. Voila! You just saved lots of cash by adding a twist on a leftover Christmas dish!
The day after Christmas or New Year usually comes the cravings for something light and easy after all the food binging from Christmas parties and family get togethers.
Use leftover ham for an easy meal that doesn’t feel too heavy on the tummy. Simply add the cooking oil into a saucepan then sauté ham first then set aside. Place the onions, celery stems, carrots, and corn on the same pan until browned. Then set aside the vegetables as well.
Next step is to create the soup. Add water and cornstarch onto the saucepan and cook until light brown. Then add the milk and the ham.
Lastly, season our Post-holiday ham soup with AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning to bring out the savoriness. Then add chili flakes, salt and pepper to taste. Add the other vegetables. Then serve on a bowl for the family to enjoy!
