Ginataang Puso ng Saging
AJI-GINISA® Flavor Seasoning MixIngredients
- 5 cups (400g) Banana Heart, outer layers removed, cut thinly
- 1 cup (250ml) Water
- 1 Tbsp. (15ml) Vegetable oil
- 1 cup (100g) Onions, sliced
- ¼ cup (40g) Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. (5g) Ginger, minced
- 1 cup (250ml) Water
- 1 cup (245ml) Coconut Cream
- 1 pack (8g) AJI-GINISA® Flavor Seasoning Mix
- 2 1/2 Tbsps. (35ml) Fish Sauce
- ½ tsp. (2.5g) Ground black pepper
- 1 cup (300g) Shrimps, peeled and cut into small pieces
- 1 cup (70g) Malunggay leaves, fresh
Procedure
- SQUEEZE. In a bowl, combine banana heart and water. Squeeze out juice and discard. Set aside.
- SAUTÉ & SIMMER. In a pot, heat oil. Sauté onion, garlic, and ginger. Add banana heart and water. Cover and let simmer. Add coconut cream, mix well.
- SEASON. Add AJI-GINISA®, fish sauce, and black pepper. Mix well.
- MIX. Add shrimp and cook until it turns orange. Add malunggay leaves, mix well and cook for another minute.
- SERVE. Transfer to a plate. Serve and enjoy.
Cooking Tips
Soak the banana heart with water then squeeze out the sap. This helps reduce the bitter taste of the vegetable.
